Biography
Born in Mulhouse in 1982, Nicolas Boidevézi came to sailing in childhood and became a professional offshore skipper, active since 2008.
In the Mini class from 2009, he took several podiums: winner of the 2011 Mini-Fastnet in the double-handed category, third in the French championship in 2010 and 2011, then French vice-champion in 2012. He has also raced Class40 since 2011, notably with Cédric de Kervenoaël (2nd in the 2019 Armen Race).
In 2015 he bought Alex Thomson's former Hugo Boss IMOCA, aiming at the 2016-2017 Vendée Globe. Lacking a title sponsor, the project was dropped and the boat sold in 2016 to Kōjirō Shiraishi. In 2025 he announced his intention to enter the 2028-2029 Vendée Globe.
He also leads expeditions combining sailing, skiing and trekking, including a North Pacific voyage in the wake of Vitus Bering aboard Maewan.
