Front
Also called: front froid, front chaud, cold front, warm front
The boundary between two air masses, marked by a wind shift and often rain.
Fronts come with depressions. As a cold front passes, the wind strengthens, shifts sharply and squalls break out. Racers watch for these shifts to tack or gybe at the right moment.
