Great capes
Also called: Trois caps, cap Horn, Cape Horn, cap de Bonne-Espérance, Cape of Good Hope, cap Leeuwin, Cape Leeuwin, grands caps
The capes of Good Hope, Leeuwin and Horn, the milestones of a round-the-world voyage through the Southern Ocean.
A round-the-world race sailing west to east leaves the three capes to port: Good Hope at the tip of Africa, Leeuwin at the southwest of Australia and the Horn at the end of South America. Rounding Cape Horn marks the exit from the Southern Ocean and the start of the climb back up the Atlantic.
