Boat captain
Also called: responsable technique, chef de projet technique, préparateur, shore team, équipe technique
Runs the technical preparation of the boat and its shore crew.
The boat captain organises maintenance, yard periods and preparation before each race, with the technicians (rigging, composites, electronics, hydraulics). They know every part of the boat; during a race, they advise the skipper on repairs remotely.
