Helm
Also called: Barreur, barreuse, helmsman, helmswoman, barre
The crew member who steers the boat.
The helm drives the boat through waves and gusts, working with the trimmers. On very fast boats, steering takes so much concentration that shifts are short. Single-handed, the autopilot steers most of the time.
