Co-skipper
Also called: coskipper, équipier, binôme
The second sailor of a pair, sharing the running of the boat with the skipper.
Double-handed, the two sailors take turns at the helm, trimming and resting. The co-skipper often brings a complementary skill (weather, technical); some pairs are formed for a single race, others last several seasons.
