Onboard reporter
Also called: Reporter embarqué, OBR, media crew, mediaman
Crew member who films and reports during the race, without sailing the boat.
The OBR (onboard reporter) sends photos, videos and stories by satellite. In some races they are forbidden from helping sail the boat, so as not to strengthen the crew. Their footage makes up much of the media coverage of crewed races.
