Biography
Born around 1975 in Paris, Romain Pilliard started offshore racing as a crew member in the Tour de France à la voile, then took part in the Solitaire du Figaro in 2000 and 2001 and sailed as crew on 60-foot IMOCAs.
With his wife, through their company EOL, he created the Tour de Belle-Île in 2008.
In 2018 he finished 4th in the Ultime class of the Route du Rhum aboard the trimaran Remade - Use It Again!, a boat used by Ellen MacArthur for her 2005 solo round-the-world record. In 2022 he finished 8th and last in the Ultime class aboard Use It Again! by Extia.
He promotes the circular economy through his Use It Again project.
