Starts
Also called: Départs, participations, courses, races
The number of races started, in finished editions. Non-starters (withdrawn, did not start) are not counted.
It is the basis of every statistic: a boat or skipper that does not start has neither a result nor a retirement. A disqualified boat did start and counts.
Editions that are under way or yet to come do not count.
