Sillage rating
Also called: Rating Sillage, Glicko, Glicko-2, classement, rating, Elo
A Glicko-2 rating computed per class over every edition: each result counts as duels against the rest of the fleet. Starts at 1,500; provisional while its deviation is above 110.
Each edition is a rating period: a boat (or a skipper) wins its duels against those it beats and loses them against those who beat it; retirements rank behind every finisher. So that a large fleet does not weigh more than a small one, an edition counts as a single game.
The deviation measures uncertainty: it shrinks with each race and grows with missed editions. The best rating keeps only established values (deviation up to 110). The change for an edition is the rating after the race minus the rating before.
