Foil rake
Also called: Incidence, rake, angle d'attaque, angle of attack, réglage de foil
The angle of a foil or rudder to the water flow; it sets the lift.
The more rake a foil has, the more lift it makes, up to the stall. Sailors adjust it to speed and sea state, with rams or tackles, to keep the boat at the right height and limit slamming.
