Sailing instructions
Also called: Instructions de course, IC, SI, SIs
The document describing how the race is run: course, marks, forbidden zones, times, penalties.
Sailing instructions are given to skippers before the start. They describe the course precisely, the marks and which side to leave them, exclusion zones, communication procedures and applicable penalties. They can be amended up to the start, and sometimes during the race.
