Ice limit
Also called: Limite des glaces, zone d'exclusion antarctique, ZEA, Antarctic exclusion zone, AEZ, icebergs, growlers
A line south of which competitors may not sail, to avoid icebergs.
Round-the-world race organisers set an exclusion zone around Antarctica, adjusted from satellite observations of drifting ice. Crossing it brings a penalty. The limit prevents the dives south of the past but protects sailors from colliding with icebergs and growlers (small blocks that are hard to see).
