Composite
Also called: matériaux composites
A material made of fibres (glass, carbon, flax…) set in resin.
A composite combines fibres, which resist tension, and a resin that binds them and gives them shape. In boatbuilding, layers of cloth are stacked and oriented along the expected loads.
When a page says “composite”, the hull mixes several fibres, for instance glass and carbon.
