Glass fibre
Also called: Fibre de verre, verre, polyester, fibreglass, fiberglass, GRP
A composite material heavier and cheaper than carbon, common in production boats.
Resin-impregnated glass fibre is the material of most leisure boats. Heavier and more flexible than carbon, it is also much cheaper and easier to repair. Some one-design or budget-capped classes require it to keep costs down.
