Retirement
Also called: Abandon, DNF, RET, did not finish, abandonner
The boat started but did not finish the race (DNF).
A retirement may come from damage (mast, keel, rudder, foil, hull, power), a capsize, a collision, a medical problem or the skipper's choice. The directory records the cause, date and position of each retirement and draws statistics by generation or shipyard from them.
