Gap to the winner
Also called: Écart au vainqueur, écart, gap
Official time minus the division winner's, relative to the winner's time: +5 % means 5 % slower.
Expressed as a percentage, the gap can be compared from one race to another, whatever its length. It uses official times (penalties and redress included); without the winner's time there is no gap.
